THE TOP 7 THINGS TO DO IN THE SEYCHELLES MAIN ISLAND OF MAHÉ

Seychelles unique location in the Indian Ocean is just a perfect combination of amazing crystal clear waters, giant boulders, palm trees and fine white sandy beaches.

And Mahé island alone has 365 beaches in total, one for each day of the year to suit all tastes. It has not the atolls of the Maldives, but it’s beautiful beyond comparison as you can drive around the island to discover the best beaches.

Even if Praslin and La Digue islands, much smaller in comparison with Mahße, often take the headlines of anyone wanting to visit the Seychelles, Mahé is much more than a stopover whose beaches rank among the top beaches in the World.

The best way to explore it is making a self- drive travel by car , after all you could drive around the island in just 3 hours (without stops) and the roads are in fairly good condition. So when I got to my hotel in the island in my rental car, the Beau Vallon Hotel, I was just mesmerized with the beauty of this beach. Beau Vallon beach is just the most perfect half moon bay of the Seychelles, with all you could expect from a paradise beach – amazing palm trees, clear crystal water, thin white sand and even had some boulders to perfect this composition, with a giant hill overlooking it. From that moment one, I knew that I was on the right spot and found that a little Eldorado of Indian Ocean.

Here is a travel map with the top 7 things to do in the Seychelles, specifically FOR the island of Mahé. I would recommend you stay in Mahé for a 3 days itinerary at your discretion , where you can do easily a road trip in 2 day and that you stay one full day at one of the beaches.

BEAU VALLON BEACH

This area off the west coast of Mahé is just incredible to enjoy a great beach day. Beau Vallon Beach is for me the best beach in Mahé islands and in the Seychelles top beaches as its long bay encircles the Indian Ocean in a beautiful tropical backdrop. It also has some of the famous boulders, but the fine white sand beach and the palm trees are just perfect in all senses. There are also a lot of ammenities nearby so you can enjoy a meal, cocktail or an ice cream near Beau Vallon very easily. Also the waters in Beau Vallon tend to be perfect to swimming and very snorkelling friendly.

VICTORIA TOWN, THE CAPITAL OF THE SEYCHELLES

Victoria offers you a perfect blend of a colonial architecture city plus amazing landscapes as the mountains embrace the capital with plenty of green. Moreover, you have also a beautiful hindu temple and you get over the hills, the panoramas of Victoria are simply stunning.
